Menghuai Wu
University of Leoben
Prof. Dr. -Ing Menghuai Wu, University of Leoben, has the research
background of numerical modeling and simulation of solidification and relavant metallurgical
processes. He did his Master study at Northwestern Polytechnical University in China,
Ph.D at RWTH Aachen in Germany, and Habilitation at the University of Leoben,
and became the head of Christian Doppler Laboratory for “Advanced Process
Simulation of Solidification and Melting” at the same university in 2010. He
has coordinated/led/participated many national, EU and international research
projects, and collaborated with the steel industries (Primetals, Voestalpine, INTECO, RHI
Magnesita, etc.) and got their supports.
The multiphase solidification models as developed by him and colleagues have
been broadly applied to CC, Semi-CC, ingot, ESR/VAR, etc. In the year 2010, he
is honored by Austrian government (Styria) for the “Research Prize for
Simulation and Modeling, 1st class”, which is only awarded to one
person each year. He authored and co-authored 380 papers with h-index 32.
